Maker Fairewell
A long overdue part deux to our Maker Faire weekend. What more can i say but, CHICKENPANTS!
At the end of the first day, total exhaustion led me to these two fine crafters of the cutest chickees on the planet, claire and dan of absolutelysmall. Breaking my “Thou will not consume” vow, the Chickenpants were just what the dr. ordered: a natural pick-me-up to divert sleep deprivation.
So into the chickens was I that the next day Shana had to see what all my excitement was about, and lo and behold, she too was caught up in the spell of Chickenpants!
The second day was a steady, easy stream of folks, not the mad rush of Saturday. Our newest fan, Jada, couldn’t get enough of the jewelry making; she kept comin’ back for more and her creative juices were really flowin’ by the end of the day. She even made both of us sculptures to keep!
Speaking of fans, the Original Accessorize with Toys Fan, Peggy Lan (on the far right), came in tow with 2 friends and a relative! Too bad they couldn’t stay longer to finish their projects, but check out the great origami crane earrings she made for shana and i. Thanks a bunch, Peggy!
Next thing you know it’s 6pm and another Maker Faire has gone by. This trio was our last of the day, and you can’t see from this photo, but they were the proud creators of army tanks and other war vehicles. Dads had to drag them away as the doors were being closed and the cleanup crew was in full force.
